Fort Mill, SC Fort Mill, SC Seasonal Seasonal $10 - $13 an hour $10 - $13 an hour 12 days ago 12 days ago 12 days ago OVERVIEW The Grounds Maintenance Tech position works on a diverse range of activities involved in the maintenance and daily preparation of the golf course.
They are responsible for grounds construction, maintenance work, and other related tasks as required.
KEY FUNCTIONS Become proficient at operating machinery or small equipment as it pertains to maintaining a golf course Operate powered equipment to mow greens, approaches, fairway, tees, and rough Operate an edger and string trimmer Manages areas planted with trees, shrubs, and flowers Set up the course tee markers and change cups Maintain ball washers, water hazards, and bunkers Operate light equipment essential to haul materials and remove debris around the course Trims trees, prunes shrubs, and pulls weeks as needed Perform duties in a courteous and professional manner to ensure meeting guest's needs Provide superior service when interacting with guests and team members Show initiative and seek additional assignments that will better serve guests Performs other duties as required KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES Participate in and help maintain a harmonious work environment Exhibit appropriate behavior and work ethic is expected of all employees Self-motivated with desire to complete projects in a timely and efficient manner Ability to work alone or in a group on a specific task Open to being trained and coached on various ways to complete assigned tasks Follow all safety rules and procedures Keep all golf course equipment and tools in a clean and good working order Service and guest focused attitude MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Must be a highly motivated individual.
Must have the ability to perform physical tasks related to the operation of small equipment and tools.
High School Diploma or equivalent supplemented by two years of golf course experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, walk, read, hear, talk, balance, climb, use hands, use fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, smell, push or pull.
The employee may be required to move or lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, sharp objects, extreme heat and/or open flame.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
